Our Private Guided Knights Templar Tours go where you want to go.
Our classic Private Guided Tours in the Knights Templar Region run from 1 day upwards. Typical examples are shown below. But all of these can be modified to suit you. All tours are based on starting and finishing in Tomar. But we can start and finish in Lisbon or anywhere else in Portugal that is most suitable for you.
Tours cost from around €180.00 ($195.00 USD) plus entrance fees into all major sites per person (based on two people travelling). This includes transport from Tomar and back, guide services and local insurance. All our prices are in € Euros (with an indicative guide in $ US Dollars) but you can use the currency converter to see the price in other currencies.
Our basic tour prices are based on picking you up and dropping you off in Tomar. We can also pick you up and drop you off in Lisbon or any other location in Portugal.
The incredible Knights Templar Festival normally takes place in early July. There is a torch-lit Knights Parade, medieval banquets, re-enactments of historical scenes from the medieval period and a medieval market.
We run Private Guided Tours during the Festival incorporating visits to historic sites.
The next Festival is on the 10th – 13th July, 2025.
Festa Templária Tours (Knights Templar Festival)
Early booking is essential as hotel accommodation rapidly fills up.
The incredible Festa Dos Tabuleiros (Feast of the Trays) is a four-yearly event taking place in Tomar in mid-July. The next one is in 2027.
An unforgettable week-long event with the historic centre streets decorated with hundreds of thousands of paper flowers. Centuries old with an amazing parade of 700 local women with huge garlanded head-dresses.
We organise tours to coincide with this. But early booking is essential.
The Portuguese ‘Caminho de Santiago’ (the long distance pilgrim trail) to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain runs through the heart of the Knights Templar Region.
We organise tours for walkers on the trail. We pick up in Lisbon and tour the Knights Templar sites along the trail dropping the walkers off in Tomar.
There has been a Jewish presence in Portugal for 2,000 years.
